Fitchburg, Mass. – The combination of Lucas Barbosa (Lowell, Mass.) to Gabriel Teixeira (Lunenburg, Mass.) registered two goals to propel the Fitchburg State University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the Gators of Russell Sage College in non-conference action at Elliot Field on Tuesday evening.

How It Happened
The Falcons grabbed an early lead as Barbosa threaded a pass through the Sage defense to Teixeira, who deposited the ball past the Gators netminder junior Tyler Brennan (Albany, NY). The pair connected again at the 22:26 mark. Barbosa caught a streaking Teixeira down the right wing. The speedy sophomore cut in towards goal between the visitors and laced a shot into the left post for the 2-0 advantage at halftime.
Sage cut the deficit in half just six minutes into the second half. First-year Andrew Kraszewski (Mechanicville, NY) found the left corner from 20-yards out for his first collegiate goal. Classmate Isaiah Edmonds (Earlton, NY) added the assist.
Sophomore Luke Speers (Collegeville, Penn.) backboned a tough Falcons defense, making a pair of point-blank saves to seal the victory.
