Lancers with dominant victory over Blazers

Worcester, Mass. - The Lancers traveled west to North Adams for a MASCAC matchup with the Trailblazers Saturday afternoon, looking to build on their two game win streak. A team-leading 17 points from junior guard Katie Hurynowicz (Tyngsboro, Mass.) helped Worcester State secure a dominant victory over the Trailblazers.

 

FINAL SCORE: Worcester 78, MCLA 33

 

Hurynowicz led the Lancers with a total of 17 points on 6 out of 11 successful field goals made and two out of three successful three-point attempts. Hurynowicz, along with sophomore forward Abby St. Martin (Putnam, Conn.) led the team with seven rebounds. For MCLA, Ashlyn Bill led the team with nine points on two out of four successful field goal attempts, while Kristie Zator scored eight points on three out of eight successful field goal attempts and two out of five three-pointers made. Bill & Zator each recorded six rebounds each, bringing the team total to 25. Worcester's total rebound count was 43.



This win brings the Lancers to 7-11 (3-2, MASCAC) on the season, while MCLA drops to 3-14 (0-5, MASCAC). 

 

The Blue & Gold return home next Wednesday as they host Framingham in MASCAC play. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm at Brissett Court. #WeAreWorcester
