How it Happened:

Worcester would put the pressure on early and not let up from the first seconds of the game as junior Molly Witkowski (Greenville,NY)  and senior Abbie Wing (Griswold, CT) would grab two goals in the first minute and half of action. The Vikings would cut the lead in half four minutes in but Worcester would find the back of the net with five minutes remaining in the first with another goal from Wing, this time off the pass of Shannon Donahue (Dennis, MA). Seconds later Witkowski would record her second from junior Abigail Vincent (Lakevillw, MA), and just a minute later Vincent would make it 5-1. The final goal of the first would come from the starting duo as Wing would send it across the frame off a perfect dish from Witkowski.

With a player advantage in the opening seconds of the second Worcester would push their lead to 7=1 with another Wing goal. Salem would find goal number two of the day before senior Hannah Erickson (Dunstable, MA) would take a slip from sophomore Kerry Brown (Billerica, MA) to continue their offensive success. The Vikings would manage to find goal three before Worcester went for seven unanswered to wrap up the second quarter with goals from Erickson, Wing, sophomore Meghan Bowen (Westfield, MA), Witkowski and junior Mykayla Fisher (Peabody, MA).

To start off the third quarter the Lancers would fire in two goals in quick succession from Erickson and Witkowski. Salem would answer by scoring one which would end the scoring in that quarter for both teams.

To start the fourth Brown would beat the keeper which was set up by Senior Ashley Hurley (Feeding Hills, MA). Salem would continue to fight scoring two more but ultimately would not be enough as the Lancers would win 21-6 from an additional goal by Brown and the first for first year Kylee Fennelly (Weymouth, MA) for the 21-6 victory.
