With each team matching records, this game could turn into a pivotal deciding game for conference seeding at the end of the season.
Final
Worcester State: 103
Salem State: 89
How it Happened:
It was a slow start for the Lancers against the Vikings where they would find themselves down 13-3 in the first three minutes. Sophomore Jaylen Kirkland (Gardner, MA) would kick off the Lancers scoring, draining a three to power up the offense. After ten minutes the Lancer's would start to click, gaining offensive momentum through players such as Brandon Goris (Bronx, NY) and Camden Shoesmith (Bedford, MA). Although down at the break the Lancers showed great fight and effort keeping the game within a 13 point reach.
Coming out the half the Lancers would start the half off hot, especially through key plays when Goris alley-ooped it to Kirkland and senior Nate Bangandozou (Worcester, MA) stealing the ball and then showcasing great distribution to Goris for a breakaway dunk. The Lancers tried their best to string together some needed defensive stops but fell short losing 103-89 in an intense meeting on the court.
Goris would lead the Lancers in scoring with 23 points to go alongside junior Ayme Daguilh's (West Boylston, MA) 17 points.
What's Next:
The Lancers (5-13, 2-3) will remain at home on Saturday when they host the Rams of Framingham State at 12pm.
