Men’s Hockey Shut Out by UMass Dartmouth

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's hockey team played in their second game in as many days this evening against UMass Dartmouth, falling by a score of 4-0.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/5/2021

- Score: Dartmouth 4, Rivier 0

- Records: Dartmouth (3-1), Rivier (2-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Corsairs found success early offensively as they possessed the puck for the majority of the contest. The Raiders defense would hold strong through the first two periods holding Dartmouth to just one goal in each period.

-  The First saw just one get by Raider tender Andrew LaRusso (Peabody, MA), who had a 34 save night. Griffin Wiencek was responsible for the Corsair's 1-0 lead.

- The Second period saw both teams have penalty trouble, mainly the hosting Rivier squad, who gave the visiting team a power play for the majority of the period. During which Jimmy Pelton was able to score their second goal.

- The third period saw two more Dartmouth goals, the first coming from Dillion Radin and the second from Michael Mania.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Dartmouth 38, Rivier 21

-  Penalties: Dartmouth 10 minutes on 5 infractions. Rivier 10 minutes on 5 infractions.

-  Power Play: Dartmouth 1 for 5, Rivier 0 for 5.
