Lancers Run Past Women’s Basketball

MIDDLETOWN, CT: Rivier women's basketball lost against Worcester State University in non-conference action last night at the Wesleyan Tip-Off Tournament.   

THE BASICS:

- Score: Worcester St. 73, Rivier 65

- Records: Rivier (2-3), Worcester St. (2-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) and Rachel Guinn (Clinton, MA) led the Raiders with 14 points apiece. Grumblatt also had a double double recording 12 rebounds. Hannah Muchemore (Nashua, NH) contributed with 13 points.

- Worcester St. had four athletes who reached double digits in scoring. Sarah Blomgren was the leading scorer for the Lancers with 15 points and recorded a double double with 11 rebounds. Katie Hurynowicz also had a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Worcester St. Emma Found added 14 points and Erin Gallella put up 13 points for the Lancers.  

- Worcester St. had a free throw percentage of 69%. Rivier's free throw percentage was 54.8%.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Rebounds: Worcester St. 46, Rivier 42

- Assists: Rivier 18, Worcester St. 18

- Shooting Percentage: Worcester St. 40%, Rivier 31.7%
