How it Happened:

Today's match up between the Worcester State Lancers and the SUNY Poly Wildcats found both teams attacking in a constant stream. Worcester State came out firing as junior Ayme Daguilh (West Boylston, MA) came out and hit a three giving the Blue and Gold momentum and sparking a solid opening run. Worcester was able to go up by 20 before the Wildcats found their way back into the game, tying it up and eventually claiming a late lead. A great half was played by senior Brandon Goris (Bronx, NY) who had a gritty eight points as most of his shots were earned hustling in the paint. Camdyn Shoesmith played a solid half as well as he was able to put up nine points along with three rebounds sending the Lancers into the half down 37-33.

The second half was a thriller as both teams duked it out for the win. SUNY came out to a hot start as they were able to get a 10 point lead early into the half giving energy to the Wildcats sideline. When it seemed as though all momentum was in favor of SUNY, Goris came through with a dunk on a fast break to revitalize the Lancers and provide them with new life. Following this, the Blue and Golds offense caught fire. The final two minutes of this game were exciting as each team came down hitting clutch shots. Some of this include the power combos of Goris and Shoesmith and Goris and Goris and junior Shawn Hebert (Ayer, MA), which came up big time in the clutch minutes. On the final play of the game with 15 seconds left Goris was able to dump it down to Shoesmith and win the game 79-77.

Shoesmith would end the day with 26 points and six rebounds while Goris would end with 14 points and nine assists. Herbert also played a great game off the bench accounting for 19 points six rebounds and the steal to win the game.
