Men’s Soccer Falls Short to Bucs

BUZZARDS BAY, MA: The Rivier men's soccer team fell in a close match with non-conference opponent Mass Maritime this evening by a score of 1-0.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/25/2021

- Score: MMA 1, Rivier 0

- Records: MMA (5-11), Rivier (3-12-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The lone goal for the Buccaneers came in the second half by McNeill Somers at the 57:52 mark.

-  Rivier took 11 shots, four on target. Jonathan Rudy (Hudson, NH) shot twice, both on goal. Thomas Lanzillo (Mansfield, MA) and Hayden Bilodeau (Windham, ME) each had three shots and one on target.

- Starting goalkeeper Sebastian Lembo (Nutley, NJ) allowed no goals and made four saves in his 45 minutes of play in the first half. Sean Deveau (Harwich Port, MA) took over at the start of the second half and allowed the Buccaneer goal while also making four saves.
