WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior Matthew Allen (Southwick, Mass.) scored his second goal of the season with 75 seconds remaining in the game to secure a draw against Sage College, 1-1, on Friday night from ACP Stadium in Albany, N.Y. The Owls move to 0-2-2 on the season while the Gators sits at 1-1-1.

The game was scoreless all the way until the 83rd minute where Sage deposited the first goal of the game off the foot of graduate student Christian Vaalstuen (Lillestrom, Norway) who collected a feed from Andrew Kraszewski (Mechanicville, N.Y.) to give the Gators a late advantage.

However, with 1:15 remaining in the game, the Owls capitalized on the final scoring opportunity of the match for either team, with Carter Daughdrill (Easthampton, Mass.) setting up Allen for the equalizer to end the game in a draw.

Westfield goalkeeper Collin O'Brien (Windsor Locks, Conn.) recorded six saves for the Owls while Nolan Murphy (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) stopped four shots on net for the Gators.

Both teams totaled 11 shots with Westfield tallying seven in the second half.
