How It Happened

Fitchburg State grabbed a 1-0 edge in the sixth minute of action when freshman Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, N.J.) put a shot of the post that classmate Alisha Praileau (Ashby, Mass.) collected and buried a shot inside the far post for her second tally on the season.

Wentworth knotted the score (1-1) two minutes later on an own before the Leopards took the lead at the 9:58 mark with sophomore Jenny Montville (Plainville, Mass.) finding the back of the net for her third score of the 2022 campaign with an assist from newcomer Lina Arlander (Skjetten, Norway) to make the score 2-1.

The Falcons retied the contest late in the first half as junior Elizabeth Read (Fitchburg, Mass.) received a feed from sophomore Katie Moran (Jefferson, Mass.) and lofted a shot into the upper right corner for her team-leading fifth marker on the year to send the game to halftime tied at 2-2.

Following the intermission, Wentworth regained the lead at the 63:54 mark when senior Madison Wolf (Falmouth, Mass.) crossed a shot inside the far post for her first goal of the year to make the score 3-2. The Leopards tacked on an insurance goal in the 88th minute with freshman Emily Hagen (Ellicott City, Md.) notching her first collegiate tally, resulting in the 4-2 final.
