Second Half Comeback Falls Short to Leopards

Worcester, MA - The Lancers hosted Wentworth Institute of Technology Friday afternoon at Brissette Court for their final game prior to winter break, looking to extend their current win streak at home to three. Aaron Nkrumah's team-best 17 points were not enough as the Lancers ended the year with a loss to the Leopards.

 

FINAL SCORE: Worcester 73, Wentworth 84

 

Sophomore Guard Aaron Nkrumah (Worcester, Mass.) led the Lancers with 17 points, including eight rebounds and three steals. Nkrumah recorded eight field goals out of seventeen attempts made, while Senior Guard Zion Hendrix (Charlotte, NC) recorded five out of ten attempted field goals for a total of 14 points. 

 

For the Leopards, Jack Connell led the team with 24 points, recording eight successful field goals out of sixteen attempts, while Jack Shaake recorded a team-best eleven rebounds.

 

In total, the Lancers shot 40.8% from the field and recorded six successful three-pointers out of 25 attempts, while the Leopards shot 45.8% from the field and hit eleven out of 27 three point attempts.

 

The Lancers will head into the new year with an 8-5 overall record, while Wentworth improves to 3-4.

 

The Blue & Gold are back in action on January 4th as they kick off 2023 with a MASCAC conference clash on the road against the Salem State Vikings. Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm. #WeAreWorcester
