Falcons Blanked by Engineers

Worcester, Mass. – Two goals from freshman Eliza Dutson propelled the WPI Engineers 2-0 past the visiting Falcons of Fitchburg State University on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Field.

How It Happened 

On WPI's first corner of the game, junior Hannah Walters (Danielson, Conn.) made a defensive save off an initial shot from Samantha Robison (Bedford, Mass.). However, first year Eliza Dutson (Woodstock, Conn.) collected the rebound and deposited the ball in the back of the cage for the early 1-0 lead from the Engineers.

Dutson scored her 4^th of the season in the 56^th minute with an unassisted tally to double the lead en route to the 2-0 final.

• WPI held the advantage in shots (14-3) and corners (10-2)
• FSU junior Colleen Lamprey (Cherry Valley, Mass.) made six saves in net for the Falcons
• Junior Grace Kerr (Holliston, Mass.) had the lone shot for the Green and Gold
