Vikings and Rams Play to Two Goal Stalemate

SALEM, Mass.— Salem State women's soccer welcomed the Rams from Framingham State University to Alumni Field this afternoon where they played to a 2-2 draw, bringing the Vikings record to 1-6-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play.  

How it Happened:

  • Brenna Paquette (Hudson, N.H.) scored her first goal just four minutes into the game, heading in a corner from Sydney Durkin (Dracut, Mass.). Five minutes later, she added her second by capitalizing on a rebound to give the Vikings an early 2-0 tilt.
  • The Rams were able to cut the Vikings' lead in half in the 25th minute, sending the game into the break with the Vikings ahead, 2-1.
  • Beyonce Gray (Bridgewater, Mass.) scored the equalizer in the 67th minute, which would be the last goal of the match, finalizing the 2-2 draw at Alumni Field.

Inside the Numbers:

  • Brenna Paquette recorded her first multi-goal game of the season in this afternoon's effort.
  • Ava Guyer (East Granby, Conn.) turned away nine shots in net.

The Vikings will hit the road, Wednesday October 2nd when they travel to Colby Sawyer to take on the Chargers at 4 p.m.
