Women’s Soccer Draws 2-2 at Salem State

Salem, Mass. – The Framingham State women's soccer team fought back from an early deficit to earn a 2-2 draw against Salem State in a MASCAC matchup. Despite falling behind 2-0 in the first ten minutes, the Rams rallied to tie the game, securing their second draw of the season. 

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Framingham State 2, Salem State 2 

  • Records: Framingham State (1-6-1, 1-0-1), Salem State (1-6-1, 0-1-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Salem State jumped out to an early lead, with Brenna Paquette scoring twice in the first 10 minutes. She opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a goal assisted by Sydney Durkin and then added a second in the 10th minute with an unassisted strike. 

  • Framingham State responded in the 26th minute when Alicia Tocman scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 2-1. 

  • In the second half, the Rams found the equalizer in the 68th minute when Beyonce Gray scored off an assist from Grayson Tellier, tying the match at 2-2. 

  • Both teams had chances to win, but strong goalkeeping and defense kept the score level through the final whistle. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Framingham State goalkeeper Madison Magone made seven saves on nine shots faced, while Salem State's Ava Guyer made nine saves on 11 shots. 

  • The Rams outshot the Vikings 13-12, with Framingham recording 11 shots on goal compared to Salem State's nine. 

  • Framingham State earned seven corner kicks to Salem State's five.
