Owls Can't Get Over The Hump Against Conn College, Fall 73-65

WESTFIELD, Mass. –   Connecticut College's Jerron Flynn scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Camels to a 73-65 win over Westfield State in the consolation final of the Lafrance Hospitality men's basketball tournament at UMass Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon.

Westfield falls to 0-3 with the loss, while Conn College is now 1-1.

Westfield led 37-34 at the half behind nine points on 3-3 shooting behind the arc from Timmy Jacobus.

With the Owls leading 40-34 early in the second half, the Camels rattled off 11 straight points to take a 45-34 lead that swung the tide of the game.

Westfield kept it as close as four points, trailing 68-64 after a Joe Meade layup with 2:48 to play, but the Owls would get no closer.

Kuany Teng was one of four owls players who shared the team lead with 10 points. He added four rebounds, three assists and a block and was named to the All-Tournament team.  Brendon Hamilton, Jeremy Remigio, and Brendan Keaveny each netted 10 points for the Owls.

Westfield will next play at Western New England at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
