How it Happened:

Tonight's match started with the Lancers getting pressure in the Corsairs defensive zone early and often with Worcester being able to put up a dominant 10 shots. Making the job easier in the back field was the blue and golds goalie sophomore Ella Guimenny (Douglas, MA) being able to save all three shots that were sent her way. Breuer and sophomore Ava Lemanski (Clinton, MA) had a great opening half adding ample pressure UMass-Dartmouth. Breuer put up three shots to go along with Lemanski's four shots to ensure the Corsiars's goalie stayed on her toes. Despite the great offensive efforts and opportunities they found the first goal elusive in the opening 45 minutes, ending the half 0-0.

The second half started off and maintained the intensity of the first as Worcester and UMass-Dartmouth battled to gain the edge on one another. The Blue and Gold continued the great pressure in the Corsairs defensive zone however the Corsair's kept up the good solid defense, refusing to let the Lancers onto the scoreboard. That was until Lancers Breuer maneuvered around the defense at the top of the box and scored the first goal of the game from 15 yards out to start a hot streak for Worcester State. Immediately following that goal junior Ella Tatarczuk (Bedford, MA) came up with a goal of her own off a perfect cross pass from sophomore Olivia Magierowski (Brimfield, MA) to lengthen out the lead to two scores, and putting a damper on the Corsairs hopes for a win. This demoralizing two minutes would further allow  Tatarczuk to tap in another goal giving her second goal on the night off a sophomore Jessica Forbes (Clinton, MA) kick that fell right in front of Tatarczuk, putting the Lancers up 3-0 with ten minutes left in the game. In a full team effort to celebrate the seniors, Worcester would come away with a big 3-0 win on the night.

What's Next:

The Lancers wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Mass. Maritime for a 12pm start and a bid to solidify their top four post season finish for MASCAC playoffs.
