Worcester State Hands Salem State 6-0 Loss

SALEM, Mass. -- Natalya Morin recorded a hat-trick to lead Worcester State to a 6-0 shutout over Salem State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) match on Saturday at Coughlin Field. The Lancers up their record to 4-8 and 3-2 in the MASCAC while the Vikings dip to 2-9 and 0-5 in the league.  

How it Happened:

  • Morin broke the ice, scoring at the 7:18 mark of the first that put the Lancers ahead 1-0. 
  • Worcester State added a pair of goals in the 2nd quarter, as Allison Keenan and Morin each foud the back of the net for a 3-0 halftime lead.  
  • Kaelin Coleman notched her first of the game, assisted by Maggie Nailor for a 4-0 advantage in the third quarter.
  • Coleman added her second of the game in the fourth and was followed by Morin's third goal of the game at 51:36 that capped the scoring.

Inside the Numbers:

  • Madison Ferrara picked up the win without facing a shot, playing three quarters. 
  • Jordyn Bolduc finished the game in goal for Worcester State, making one save. 
  • Izzy Mosley turned away 13 shots in the effort for Salem State.
  • The Lancers racked up 22 shots compared to two for the Vikings.
