MBB: Costin Provides Spark Off the Bench, Lasers Win Big

Newton, MA - The Lasell Men's Basketball team defeated the Vikings of Salem State in a dominant 32-point victory on Tuesday night, following the Thanksgiving break.

The game was close early, with the score tied at 12-12 at the 14-minute mark in the first half. However, Lasell broke the game open with an 11-point run, taking a 23-12 lead. Sophomore Tyler Costin, stepped up when the team faced some foul trouble. In 18 minutes of play, Costin made a significant impact, hitting 6 of his 11 three-point attempts and scoring a game-high 18 points. His back-to-back threes helped Lasell secure a 10-point lead at halftime.

The Lasers' offense continued to roll in the second half, with Costin staying hot and sinking three more three-pointers. A dominant 24-2 run extended their lead to as much as 29 points (69-40). Sophomore guard Che Hanks contributed with a pair of three-pointers during the stretch. With the lead over 30 points, Lasell was able to coast to a comfortable 32-point victory, securing a final score of 94-62.

In addition to Costin's standout performance, three other Lasers reached double figures in scoring: Marcus Lewis (16), Andy Madesko (15), and Che Hanks (12). Madesko also contributed 8 rebounds and 7 assists, further showcasing his all-around game.
