Vikings Defeat Blazers, 70-57

CHICOPEE, MA- Blazers headed into the half down by five (36-31), but were unable to slow down the Vikings offense in the second falling with the final score 70-57.

How it Happened

The Elms College men's basketball team came up short by five points behind the Salem State Vikings, finising out the first 20 minutes 36-31. The Blazers were able to knock down one more field goal going 15 over the vikings 14, but Elms was unable to secure a lead as the Vikings went on to hit five 3 pointers to help boost their score. Salem State also controlled the defensive and offensive boards, registering a total of 20 in the first half. 

In the second half the Salem State Vikings out scored the Blazers 34-26, totalling 70 points in the game to Elms' 57. The Vikings were able to score off of more field goal opportunities and get to the line to cash in some easy points. Unlike the first half the Blazers were able to crash the boards more and out rebounded bot defensively and offensively attaining 21 boards over the vikings 18. The Blazers were unable to triumph over the Vikings and fell to them 70-57 on Thursday afternoon in Picknelly Arena.
