SALEM, Mass. – Framingham State used three different goal scorers to secure a 3-1 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) win over Salem State on "Athletics Homecoming Day" at Alumni Field. The Rams jump to 5-8 on the year and improve to 3-4 in the MASCAC while the Vikings slip to 2-11 and 0-7 in conference.
How it Happened:
- Framingham State registered just two shots on goal in the first period, but found the net on one of them as Kaitlin Loughlin opened the scoring with a goal at the 12:00 minute mark.
- Marina Cadena extended the Rams' lead early in the second quarter before Isabella Alcaraz scored her first goal of the year with less than seven minutes remaining before halftime for Salem State.
- The two teams combined for just one shot on net in the third quarter as Framingham State held their one-goal advantage heading into the final quarter.
- Natalia Roehr added an insurance goal for a two-score lead just :51 seconds into the final frame, putting home a rebound that gave the Rams their final margin of victory.
