
Falcons Fall in Wesleyan Classic
Middletown, Conn. – The Fitchburg State Women's Basketball fell 71-27 to the Cardinals of Wesleyan at the Wesleyan Classic on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
1st Quarter
The Cardinals raced out of the gates to a 13-0 advantage. Alana Jones had four points in the streak. Fitchburg State had a pair of three-pointers from first-year Aliza Som (Lowell, Mass.) and Olivia Almeida (Wilmington, Mass.), to push the score to 19-6. Olivia Quinn ended the frame with five points to give Wesleyan the 24-6 lead.
2nd Quarter
Trailing 41-8 after a jumper from Tori Dacosta, the Falcons would put together a 4-0 run to close out the frame. Sophomore Sariah Dyer (Raynham, Mass.) connected with a jumper, and newcomer Juliana Davis (Templeton, Mass.) hit a pair from the charity stripe.
3rd Quarter
The Falcons received a pair of free throws from Caileen Hurley (Whitman, Mass.) and a bucket from sophomore Ephemian Bailey (Maple Grove, Minn.) midway through the quarter to pace the Falcons. Leading 51-15, the Cardinals closed out the quarter on a 12-3 run.
4th Quarter
Sophomore Delaney Brown (Billerica, Mass.) opened the final period for the Falcons with three-point play, and Stephanie Hart (Shirley, Mass.) added a jumper in the paint. The Cardinals finished with a 4-2 run to secure the victory.

- Hurley paced the Falcons with 6 points and two rebounds, Almeida finished with 3 points, three rebounds, two steals, and a block
- For the Cardinals, Quinn led the way with a game-high 12 points, and 4 rebounds
