FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State men's soccer team bested Elms College this evening in nonconference action.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons and Blazers drew even going into the 87th minute of the match. Fitchburg outshot Elms 9-2 in the second half when Liam Evans (Marshfield, MA) netted his first collegiate goal. His score ended up being the game-winner to give the Falcons a road win to open up their season. Evans was perfect this afternoon with four shots, and all were on net.
- Luke Speers (Collegeville, PA) (W, 1-0) had a light day in net for Fitchburg, seeing just two shots on goal and saving both.
- Collin Liedke (L, 0-1) saw 11 shots on net, saving ten.
