STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (6-11, 1-2 GNAC) split a women's volleyball tri-match with Simmons University (9-5, 3-0 GNAC) and Salem State University (4-10) at Mike McDevitt Court on Saturday. The Monks opened the three-match set with a 3-1 (25-15, 25-20, 8-25, 25-20) setback at the hands of the Sharks and closed out the afternoon with a decisive 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-13) victory over the Vikings.
Simmons dispatched Salem State, 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-22) in the middle match.

After dropping the first two sets, the Monks posted an impressive 25-8 third-set victory to keep the match alive. Leading 13-7 midway through the frame, St. Joe's mounted a 12-1 run – which included eight Simmons errors and four SJC service aces.
Unfortunately for the hosts, the momentum did not continue in the fourth set, which was a see-saw battle early, but a 13-4 Sharks run resulted in a 20-10 lead and eventual 25-20 setback.

- Freshman Nadia Sixto (Chattanooga, Tenn.) notched eight kills and seven total blocks
- Senior Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) added six kills, 13 assists, three aces, and nine digs
- Sophomore Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) tacked on eight kills and five digs
- Junior Sam Holland (Gilmanton, N.H.) added 10 digs

- Claire Conners delivered nine kills with four digs and two total blocks
- Kat Simeonidis tallied three kills, 28 assists, four aces, and eight digs
- Sydney Iannantuono posted eight kills and 12 digs
- April Beatty notched eight kills and seven digs
- Jayla Parnell chipped in with 13 digs and two aces

The Monks delivered 14 service aces and took advantage of 23 Salem State attack errors to cruise to the team's first 3-0 victory of the season.
