Colonels Bested by Bears in Non-Conference Action

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Curry College Baseball team fell to non-conference opponent Bridgewater State University by a final score of 8-3 on the road Wednesday afternoon. 

With the loss, Curry moves to 5-11 overall on the season and 1-1 in the CCC.

The Colonels notched the first runs of the afternoon matchup. Drew Fagala (San Antonio, Texas) sent a shot up the right side, driving in Brandon Polanco (Brownsville, N.Y.) to put Curry up 1-0 in the top of the second inning.

Bridgewater State responded with four runs in the bottom of the second to grab a three-run lead heading into the third inning.

Curry's Drew Fagala kept his bat hot in the fourth inning as he recorded his second hit on the day, doubling to left field, allowing Chris Faraca () and Brandon Polanco to score. With the Fagala two-RBI double, Curry would trail the hosting Bears 4-3 heading into the fifth inning. 

The Bears would post four additional runs through the conclusion of the matchup, closing out the contest 8-3 in favor of the hosts.

The Colonels were paced by Drew Fagala (2-for-3, 3 RBI, 2B) and Brandon Polanco (2-for-3, 2 R, 2B).

Curry will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host Wentworth for a conference doubleheader set for 11 AM & 1:30 PM.
