
Women's Basketball Soar Past Lynx In Non-Conference Action
Harlow leads the way for the Green and Gold with 17 points
Lexington, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University Women's Basketball team defeated the Lynx of Lesley University, 78-63 this afternoon in non-conference action from the Minuteman Tech Gymnasium.

How It Happened
1st quarter
Fitchburg State raced out to an early 8-2 advantage to open the contest on buckets from sophomore Mikayler Patch (North Attleboro, MA) junior Caileen Hurley (Whitman, MA) and junior Morgan Genness (Belgrade, ME) before Lesley grabbed a 13-8 lead on a pair of free-throws by junior Paige Stowers (Waller, TX).
2nd quarter
The Lynx extended the lead to 27-22 with newcomer Savannah Gravitt (Richmond Hill, GA) draining a three ball before the Falcons knotted the score at 27-27 as Patch sank a pair of free-throws, while junior Rylie Harlow (Hanson, MA) connected on a three ball. Senior Alexandra Kerley (Boca Raton, FL) notched a free-throw for the host to give Lesley a 35-32 edge, but Harlow knocked down another three pointer for the Green and Gold to tie the contest at 35-35 going into the break.
3rd quarter
Following the intermission, the two teams traded baskets to start the third quarter (43-43) before the Falcons pushed the lead to 51-48 on layups by junior Stephanie Hart (Ayer, MA) and Patch. Freshman Saniyyah Phillips (Boston, MA) would sink a pair from the charity stripe to trim the deficit to 51-50 going into the final quarter of play.
4th quarter
With the score tied at 52-52, the Falcons went on a 14-3 run, capped by a Hurley layup to give the Green and Gold a 66-55 advantage. Fitchburg State would secure the victory as Harlow and Hart notched jumpers, resulting in the 78-63 final.

- Falcons were led by Harlow with a team-best 17 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal
- Genness added 15 points, four caroms, one assist and two steals for the Green and Gold
- For the Lynx, Gravitt finished with a game best 20 points, six boards and one steal
