After closing out a spectacular athletic and academic career for Worcester State, Alyssa Jasper has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honoree which is voted on by the eight athletic directors from around the conference.

Appleman Named As Massachusetts Maritime's Head Women's Volleyball Coach

Melanie Appleman, who guided Barnstable High School to a pair Division I Massachusetts state championships before embarking on a standout collegiate career at Bridgewater State University, has been named as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Massachusetts Maritime. Appleman’s appointment, which is effective immediately, was confirmed by Patricia O’Brien, the Academy’s Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator.

A total of 737 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall 2014 All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Ratches Retires As Massachusetts Maritime's Head Volleyball Coach

Chris Ratches, who has served as Massachusetts Maritime’s Head Volleyball Coach for a total of 11 seasons during this century, has announced her retirement from the position. Ratches’ decision was confirmed by Director of Athletics Bob Corradi late last week.

Westfield State Leads 2014-15 Howard C. Smith Cup Standings

After the conclusion of the fall regular season, Westfield State has the lead in the first round of the Howard C. Smith Cup standings. The Smith Cup is awarded annually to the member institution which compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs competing in the 15 league championship sports.
