Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Announces the 2014 Volleyball All-Conference and Sportsmanship Teams
Alyssa Jasper of Worcester State has been named the 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Year and headlines the All-Conference team which is voted on by coaches from around the conference.

Westfield, Mass. — Alyssa Jasper of Worcester State has been named the 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Year and headlines the All-Conference team which is voted on by coaches from around the conference.
The senior from Rockland, Mass. has been solid for the Lancers with a conference-leading 443 kills and 4.39 kills per set, including five matches with 20 kills or more. She closed out the regular season fifth in the conference with a .232 hitting percentage. Jasped led the team to a 5-1 record in conference play, the second seed in the conference tournament and a first round bye.
Westfield State freshman Victoria Sutphen is the 2014 MASCAC Rookie of the Year after helping the Owls to a 4-2 conference record and the third seed in the tournament. The Holden, Mass. native finished the season with 230 kills, 133 digs, 38 service aces and 13 total blocks to earn MASCAC First Team All-Conference accolades. Richard Casali of Framingham State is the 2014 MASCAC Champion’s Choice Coach of the Year for leading the Rams to an undefeated 6-0 season in conference play and the top seed in the conference tournament.
Joining Jasper and Sutphen on First Team All-Conference are Charleyne Panner of Bridgewater State, Alycia Rackliffe and Julia Wan of Framingham State, Emily Peay of Salem State and Kaylee Leduc of Worcester State.
Earning a place on the MASCAC Second Team All-Conference are Clara Goncalves and Hannah Maymon of Bridgewater State, Annie DeLoid and Courtney Wilbur of Framingham State, Carolyn Cote and Kendyl Haney of Westfield State and Jennifer Cabral of Worcester State.
For the first time in MASCAC history, the conference is awarding a student-athlete from each institution in all of the participating sports and a coach selected by their peers to the MASCAC Sportsmanship Team. Those selected embody good sportsmanship in on and off the field. The 2014 MASCAC Volleyball Sportsmanship Team honorees are Sarah Mularkey of Bridgewater State,Danielle Girard of Framingham State, Jacqueline Paluilis of MCLA, Lauren O’Shaughnessy of Massachusetts Maritime, Sarah Collins of Salem State, Carolyn Cote of Westfield State and Samantha Patterson of Worcester State. Chris Ratches of Massachusetts Maritime was voted 2014 MASCAC Sportsmanship Team Coach of the Year.
