Women’s Soccer Closes Regular Season at Fitchburg State

Framingham, Mass. The Fitchburg State women's soccer team defeated the Rams of Framingham State University, 4-0 this morning in MASCAC action at Elliot Field. 

THE BASICS:

- Records:Framingham State (4-12-1, 3-4 MASCAC), Fitchburg State (8-6-3, 5-1-1 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Fitchburg State opened the scoring just 3:11 into the contest as freshman Adrianna Westcott gathered a feed from sophomore Kendra Peretzman and deposited a shot inside the far post for her sixth goal on the season for the 1-0 edge. 

  • The Falcons doubled their lead ten minutes later when Westcott buried a shot just under the cross bar for her second marker of the contest to make the score 2-0. 

  • Following the break, Fitchburg State extended the lead to 3-0 with Pereztman firing a shot into the right side of the net for her third score on the year. The Falcons secured the victory in the 75th minute of action as junior Elizabeth Read connecting on her team-leading eight goal of the 2022 campaign, resulting in the 4-0 final. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Fitchburg State finished with a 30-11 margin in shots, while also holding a 9-1 edge in corner kicks. 

  • Senior Allison Gough stopped five shots, while junior Skyla Vaudo four saves for the Green and Gold. 

  • Sophomore Jetta Oskirko registered 17 saves for the Rams.

Both teams concluded their regular seasons this morning and await their seeding into the upcoming 2022 MASCAC Post-Season tournament
