Volleyball Drops Pair at Rivier

WESTFIELD, Mass. –   Westfield State volleyball dropped a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday, falling to Salve Regina College 3-0, and host Rivier (N.H.) University, 3-1 in Nashua.

In the opener, Salve posted a straight sets win, 25-8, 25-18, 25-11.  First-year Hanna Nihill led Westfield with six kills, while Allie Hill recorded 12 digs. 

In the nightcap , Rivier won by game scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-27, and 25-13.

Bridgette McAndrews and Ashley Crowley each had seven kills for Westfield, with Hill adding 22 digs and Julia Dangel-Garcia dishing out 17 assists.

Westfield is now 4-6 overall, while Rivier is 7-1, and Salve is 3-4.  The Owls will host Simmons College in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
