Keene State Surges Past Field Hockey

Framingham, Mass. The Keene State field hockey team used four second half goals to defeat Framingham State by a score of 5-2 in Little East Conference play on Saturday.   

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Keene State 5, Framingham State 2 

- Records: Framingham State (8-6, 4-5 LEC), Keene State (7-7, 6-1) 

- Location: Keene, NH 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams jumped out to the early lead when Natalia Roehr scored five minute into the contest.  

  • The Owls socred on a Chase Labert goal to knot the game at one in the tenth minute that would take the teams to the break. 

  • Keene came out hot in the second half. Julia Baer scored in the 36th minute and a minute later Irini Stefanakos found the back of the cage to jump out 3-1.  

  • The Rams countered with a Brandi Core goal in the 43rd minute but Stefanakos and Clara Hunkins scored in the fourth to reach the final margin.  

  • The hosts outshot the Rams 23-to-16 and had 15 corner attemps to the Rams 11.  

  • Kaitlin Loughlin made ten saves in net for the Rams. 

  • Clara Gorman made eight saves in the win for Keene.

  • The Rams return to action on Wednesday, October 19th when they host Westfield State at 7pm in Little East action.
