
Women’s Hoops Earns 66-61 Win Over Westfield State at Hockenbury Classic
NORTHFIELD, Vt.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team notched a 66-61 victory over Westfield State Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Hockenbury Classic hosted by Norwich University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a closely-contested opening quarter, Eastern Nazarene clung to a narrow 11-9 edge.
- The Lions outscored the Owls 14-12 the second frame to sport a 25-21 lead at the half.
- Westfield State started the third frame with a 14-2 run to capture a 35-27 advantage.
- Eastern Nazarene pulled even at 39-39 on a free throw by Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) with 12 seconds remaining in the third before the Owls regained a three-point lead just before the end of the quarter, 42-39.
- Westfield State stretched its advantage to 52-42 with 7:33 left to play in the fourth quarter on a trey by Jordyn Lummus.
- The Lions clawed back to seize a 56-55 edge on a layup by Te'yalla Simpson (Fairfield, Texas) with 3:25 on the clock.
- Eastern Nazarene converted 6-of-8 attempts from the charity stripe in the final minute of play to secure its second win of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Alondra Jimenez (Santa Barbara, Calif.) poured in 19 points and grabbed eight boards while adding four steals and four assists.
- Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) netted 13 points to go with five assists and three steals.
- Te'yalla Simpson (Fairfield, Texas) posted her second double-double of the year, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
- Michala O'Donoghue (San Bruno, Calif.) registered eight points and eight boards while Anaira Ayala (Guaynabo, P.R.) contributed with eight points.
- Eastern Nazarene finished with a field-goal percentage of 33.3% to go with a 29.2% clip from three-point territory.
- Westfield State was limited to 23.1% shooting on the day and connected on 7-of-37 from beyond the arc.
- Jordyn Lummus paced the Owls with 13 points and 14 rebounds while Maddie Pond tallied 13 points off the bench.
ALL-TOURNEY HONORS:
Senior Alondra Jimenez (Santa Barbara, Calif.) was named to the Hockenbury Classic All-Tournament team. She averaged 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 4.0 steals in the two contests.
