Women’s Soccer Stymied at Salem State

SALEM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team endured a 5-0 setback at Salem State Thursday evening.

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Salem State nabbed a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute. Brenna Paquette bagged her first goal of the season as Jasmin Moran picked up her first assist.
• The Vikings doubled their advantage to 2-0 in the 32nd minute. Macy Hudzik netted her first tally of the year while McKenna Gilligan chalked up an assist.
• The hosts added a goal in the 35th minute to widen the margin to 3-0 as Paquette collected her second marker of the match.
• Salem State tacked on its fourth score of the first half in the 43rd minute. Eryn Ward knocked in her first goal of the fall and Jill Tramondozzi delivered the assist.
• The Vikings capped off the scoring in the 64th minute. Jenna Mitza notched her first marker of the campaign and Cassandra Harrington recorded the assist.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Goalkeeper Jasmine Arzu (Bronx, N.Y) finished with 12 saves on the night.
• Eastern Nazarene managed a pair of shot attempts on the night as Kayla Dorn (Hampton, Ill.) and Rachel Pieger (Oakville, Conn.) each fired one shot in the contest.
• Salem State produced 23 shot attempts and concluded the match with a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks earned.
