Softball Falls to Endicott and Ramapo

Clermont, Fla. - The Framingham State University softball team suffered a pair of losses this afternoon falling 2-1 to Endicott before falling 5-0 to Ramapo at the Spring Games.     

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Endicott 2, Framingham State 1 
Ramapo 5, Framingham State 0 

-Records: Framingham State (1-3), Endicott (3-1), Ramapo (6-2)  

- Location: The Spring Games Clermont, Fla.  

FSU-Endicott 

  • After three scoreless innings, the Rams took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning on a Kelsey McGuill RBI single to left field. 

  • The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Rams until the Gulls plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth on a homer by Chloe Shapleigh and an RBI ground out. 

  • That was all the Gulls would need as they held the Rams off the scoreboard in the final two innings.   

  • Rylynn Witek took the loss for the Rams in the circle going six innings allowing three runs, two earned on three hits. 

  • Camille Desrochers, Gwendolyn Carpenter and McGuill each recorded hits for the Rams in the game. 

 

FSU-Ramapo 

  • Ramapo jumped out to the quick lead with two in the first and another run in the second to open up a 3-0 lead. They added two more in the fourth while holding the Rams at bay to reach the final margin. 

  • Brooke Grassia, Carpenter and McGuill recorded hits in the game for the Rams. 

  • Ally Moran took the loss in the circle going seven innings and allowing five runs, four earned, on nine hits with a walk and four strikeouts.

The Rams are back in action tomorrow when they face Minnesota-Morris and Smith at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
