BUZZARDS BAY, Mass – Westfield State senior outfielder Sarah Meunier continued a torrid streak at the plate, finishing 3-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in game one, as Westfield State softball swept a non-conference doubleheader from Massachusetts Maritime on Saturday.

The Owls (7-7) won the opener 6-3, and game two by a 5-3 final.

Emily Arredondo tossed a complete game in the opener, scattering eight hits and striking out seven.

Shortstop Alyssa Clark, right fielder Farrah Adam, center fielder Lindsay Cordopari and designated player Madison Philbrook all had multi-hit games. Philbrook included a double in her score line and drove in three runs.

In game 2, Brenna Welch tossed a complete game for the Owls to pick up the pitching win.

The Owls had multi-hit games from Cordopatri, whose both single were of the bunt variety, Alyssa Clark, Madison Philbrook and Jordyn Carpenter.

Clark drove in a pair of runs for Westfield.

Westfield will be back in action on Friday with a conference doubleheader at Worcester State.
