Men's Basketball Falls to Roger Williams 70-54

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team suffered their first loss at home, falling 70-54 to Roger Williams this evening in non-conference action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced by 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal from Adonis Vashon. 

  • Calvin Johnson chipped in with eight points and five rebounds off the bench, while Marshall Kerley tallied eight points as he connected on 2-of-6 from behind the arc. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first half was tight though the first eight minutes with neither team leading by more than three until a Mac Annus three gave the Hawks a 20-14 lead with 12:17 on the clock. 

  • The Rams used layups from Vashon and Philistin to pull within two, 20-18, with 10:58 on the clock, but the Hawks used a 10-2 run over the next four minutes to lead 30-20.  

  • The Rams closed the gap to six on two occasions late in the first half, but the Hawks scored the final five of the frame to lead 40-28 at the break. 

  • Marshall Kerley drained a three for the Rams to open the second half, but another 10-2 run by Hawks pushed the lead to 50-33 and they never looked back leading by as many as 23 in the second half.
