Women’s Basketball Charges Through Regis

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State women's basketball team remain undefeated after defeating Regis College by a score of 83-66 in non-conference action Tuesday evening in Framingham.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Rams jumped out to an early lead before the Pride cut it to 19-16 late in the first. The Rams answered with a 15-3 run capped by a Chloe Rayko trey midway through the second frame.

The Pride would battle back to 41-36 at the half but the Rams would stay on the attack opening up to an 80-55 lead after a Kelsey Yelle layup with five minutes to play.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

The Rams were paced by strong performances from juniors Chole Rayko and Kelsey Yelle.

Yelle scored 20 points on 10-of-13 from the floor with nine rebounds three assists and two steals.

Rayko scored 17 including five from long range while Gabriella Redford added nine off the bench on 3-of-5 from downtown.

Coutrney Doherty scored a game-high 32 points with two boards and two steals for the Pride. Madi Zancan pitched in 18 with seven boards.

The Rams shote 52% from the field while the Pride only shot 39% from the floor.

Framingham connected on 44% from beyond the arc while Regis only converted 18% from long range.

The Rams are idle until Thursday, November 30thwhen they travel to Salve Regina for a 7pm matchup. The Pride will host Wheaton on Wednesday, November 29 at 7pm.
