HOW IT HAPPENED
Robertson controlled Suffolk's offensive output early to push the Rams in front two minutes into the action, 6-3. That lead was short lived as Salem State caught up and leveled the playing field at 8-all at the 15:15 mark. From there, the score tied three more times with the last coming at 15-15.
The Rams rolled off nine straight points with a triple from Matt Draheim, back-to-back hoops from Jake Gomez and Robert capped off the run with a layup to give the blue-and-gold a 24-15 cushion with 8:51 to go in the opening half.
Suffolk held onto the advantage the rest of the way and built it to double figures, 40-28, as the teams headed to the locker room.
The Vikings burst out of the break and cut the Rams lead down to seven, 42-35, over a 2:34 span.
Suffolk rebuilt a double digit distance at the midway point of the second stanza, 56-44.
