Gibb's Goner the Highlight of 5-1 Loss to Penn State-Abington

Jake Gibb's solo home run was one of few highlights as the Owls fell to Penn State Abington, 5-1 at historic Pat Thomas Stadium in Leesburg, Fla on the opening day of the Owls 7-game Florida swing.  

Gibb launched an opposite field shot towards Lake Harris to lead off the fifth inning. 

Penn State starter Jaden Himmelreich shut the Owls down on just four hits while working a complete game.  He struck out seven and walked none.  

Shane Bogli started and took the loss for the Owls.   He worked seven inning, allowed nine hits, walked two and struck out five. 

Himmelreich helped his own cause in the sixth, driving in the go ahead run with a sacrifice fly, to take a 2-1 lead. 

The Nittany Lions tacked on three more runs in the seventh, scoring one on an error, and two more on an Double by Ryan McCarty.

Westfield will be back in action tomorrow with a doubleheader against Suffolk University at Pat Thomas Stadium.
