Volleyball Holds On for 3-2 Victory over Suffolk

Boston, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team held off the Suffolk University Rams this evening as Framingham State held on for a 3-2 victory in a non-conference match at Larry and Michael Smith Court. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Framingham State 3, Suffolk 2 (25-17, 25-18, 23-25, 23-25, 15-13) 

-Records: Framingham State (8-4), Suffolk (8-4)  

- Location: Larry & Michael Smith Court Boston, Mass.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams took the first two sets 25-17 and 25-18 before the host Rams rallied for two straight 25-23 tying the match at 2-2. Framingham State was able to hold off Suffolk in the fifth set to secure the victory. 

  • The Rams were paced on the attack this evening by a double double effort from Anna Szymanski. Szymanski tallied 19 kills with 11 digs and a pair of blocks. 

  • Hailey Sanders was the only other Ram with double digit kills as she tallied 18 kills on 31 attempts with just two errors. Sanders also added eight blocks in the match. 

  • The back row was paced by 18 digs from Malia Shields, while Emily Flaherty added 10.

The Rams are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Westfield State for a MASCAC clash beginning at 11 a.m.
