MCLA drops road game at Albany Pharmacy 83-75

Albany, NY- Jen Wehner and Courtney Terzi combined for 48 points and 23 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as MCLA dropped an 83-75 decision to Albany Pharmacy this evening.  With the loss, the Trailblazers are now 4-3 on the season.

MCLA trailed 43-38 at halftime and battled back behind Wehner to knot the game at 53 apiece with 13:08 remaining in regulation.  The Trailblazers converted three consecutive old fashioned three point plays, the first two by Wehner to tie the game, while Terzi's would give MCLA their first lead of the half at 56-53.

ACP's Kelly VanValenburgh knocked home a three pointer on the ensuing possession to even the score once again.  After trading baskets over the next few series, ACP would take the lead at 65-64 on an Alex Oaks free throw with 7:10 left.  ACP would stretch out to a seven point advantage and hold off MCLA, who could get no closer than five the rest of the way.

Wehner led MCLA with 29 points and 11 boards on 12 of 16 shooting, while Terzi tallied 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting, while collecting a team high 12 rebounds.  MCLA was doomed by 25 turnovers.

VanValenburgh led ACP with 24 points and 10 caroms, while Kelsey Johnson added 22 points.  Oaks would finish with 15 points.

MCLA is back in action on Thursday when they face Hartwick at the Amsler Campus Center.
