Strong Second Half Propels Women’s Lacrosse Past Worcester State 20-11

Worcester, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team tallied six third period goals as the Rams defeated Worcester State 20-11 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening at Coughlin Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In the first period, the Lancers jumped out to a 4-1 lead just under four minutes into the game, but the Rams used a 4-0 run featuring a pair of goals from Rachel Erickson to take a 5-4 lead with just under seven to go. Worcester tied the game, but markers from Molly Lanier and Leah Green gave the Rams a 7-5 lead after one. 

  • Worcester tallied the first four of the second period to lead 9-7 midway through the period, but the Rams tallied the final three goals of the half to lead 10-9. 

  • The Rams outscored the Lancers 6-1 in the third with Hannah Guerin and Regan Fein each finding the back of the net twice. 

  • The Rams maintained the lead throughout the fourth and secured the victory. 

  • Green and Erickson each finished the game with five goals and an assist, while Guerin finished the game with three goals and four assists. 

  •  Isabella DiMare earned the victory in net and made 10 saves. 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Westfield State at 7 p.m. The winner of that game is claiming the 2024 MASCAC Regular Season Title.
