Volleyball Splits Matches with Western New England and Elms

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team was defeated 3-0 by Western New England but downed Elms College 3-0 in the days final match of a non-conference tri-match at Logan Gymnasium.  Western New England defeated Elms 3-0 in the days other match.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

WNE 3, FSU 0 

  • The Golden Bears defeated the Rams in straight sets by scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-15. 

  • The Golden Bears were paced by nine kills from Alissa Hawes who added seven digs. 

  • Izzy Petty added seven kills, while Taylor Geist recorded 27 set assists.  

  • Jaimee Lowe finished the match with five kills and nine defensive digs. 

WNE 3, Elms 0 

  • The Golden Bears were led by 14 kills from Alissa Hawes in the win over Elms. Hawes connected on 14 of her 25 attempts for a .360 hitting percentage. 

  • Becca Mayer chipped in with three aces and 13 digs, while Taylor Geist added 31 set assists. 

  • Elms was led by four kills and seven digs from Alysha Izquierdo. 

FSU 3, Elms 0 

  • The Rams cruised to the victory in the final match of the day by scores of 25-12, 25-22 and 25-14. 

  • Natalie Reynolds once again paced the Rams on the attack with 10 kills on 19 attempts for a .421 hitting percentage. 

  • Sarah Medeiros added eight kills on 16 swings with just one error for a .438 attack percentage. 

  • Anneli DiVirgilio paced the Rams defensive effort with nine defensive digs and two aces, while Carly Beaulieu finished the match with six digs and a team best six aces. 

  • Stella Bailey added 21 set assists to go along with seven digs, while Jaimee Lowe chipped in with four kills, five digs and four aces.
