The Details

  • Worcester State got on the board early (08:23), but despite the early Lancers lead, Stonehill responded nearly a minute later (09:42) when Nehmer flicked the puck up head to Cady near the blue line. He pushed down the right side of the ice and after a nice move to get past his defender, he buried his shot which evened game at one.
  • A little over two minutes later (11:29), Peloso forced a turnover near the Lancers bench. From there, he took the back down to Kubik and beat him glove side for the 2-1 advantage.
  • Coming out of the fist period, Worcester State responded with the tying goal off the stick of Bruckner and the go-ahead goal from Ronan as the Lancers went into the final period up one (3-2).
  • As the Laners continued to hold their lead, the Skyhawks evened the game at three after Rapalje dropped the puck off for Schwenninger to fire past Kubik.
  • After Schwenninger's goal, three minutes later, Nehmer netted the eventual game-winner after Heath set him up for a clean look. Later in the period with just 2:15 left, Schwenninger tacked on his second powerplay goal courtesy of a nice feed from Ireland for the eventual 5-3 win.
  • Ireland now leads the team with 16 assists and has dished out at least one assist in 11 straight contests.
  • The Purple and White have now scored at least five goals in five of their last six contests.
