Men’s Basketball Falls at Regis 72-58

Weston, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team was defeated on the road this evening 72-56 by Regis College in non-conference action at Higgins Court.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced by 21 points from Makyle Hayes. Hayes connected on 10-of-14 from the floor and added two rebounds, an assist and three steals. 

  • Joshua Saint Jean finished with 13 points as he connected on 6-of-6 from the floor and added eight rebounds. 

  • Marshall Kerley chipped in with 12 points as he connected on 4-of-5 from behind the arc and added two rebounds and five assists. 

  • Kyle Philistin finished the night with seven points, six rebounds, a steal, a block and an assist, while Adonis Vashon grabbed a team high nine rebounds in the game. 

  • The Rams shot 43% from the floor for the game and 43% from behind the arc, while the Pride connected on 44% of their offerings including 40% from long ranget. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Rams led 19-18 on a Hayes bucket midway through a tightly contested opening ten minutes of the first half.  The two teams would trade baskets and the lead, but the Pride took a 36-31 lead into the half. 

  • The Pride opened the second half with a 7-0 run taking a 44-31 lead just over two minutes into the half. The Pride extended the lead to 59-39 midway through the frame and were able to hold off a late surge from the Rams to secure the victory.
