Ice Hockey Drops 2-1 Decision to Rivier in OT

Boston, Mass. – Rivier men's ice hockey won against Framingham State University in overtime this evening at Warrior Ice Arena.    

THE BASICS: 

- Score:   Rivier 2, Framingham State 1 (OT) 

- Records: Framingham State (3-7-1), Rivier (5-4-1) 

- Location: Warrior Ice Arena Boston, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • After a scoreless first period, Riv's Josh Sanchez secured a goal with assists credited to Logan Dapprich and Carter Poulin late in the second fram 

  •  Dylan Marty tied the game in the third period for the Rams with passes from Johnny Baker and Jake Barcelou. 

  • The Raiders Avery Arnold skated by Framingham State's defenders to record the game-winning goal in OT. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

  • Luke Newell made 28 saves in the win for Rivier.  

  • Blake Carlson stopped 34 shots on goal in net for the Rams.  

  • Both teams were unsuccessful in their power play opportunities.  

UP NEXT: 

The Rams head into the semester break and reopen play on Thursday, January 5th when they host Salem State at Loring Arena at 7:40pm.
