Greenberg powers MCLA, opens 2009 with victory over Albany College of Pharmacy

North Adams, MA- Fueled by junior Jon Greenberg's 28 point, 16 rebound performance, MCLA rolled past visiting Albany College of Pharmacy 111-70 this afternoon in the Trailblazers season opener. Sixteen Trailblazers broke into the scoring column on the afternoon.

ACP and MCLA trading scoring punches early as the Panthers Peter Aiken fueled an early ACP advantage.  At the fifteen minute mark and the score tied at 15, Greenberg asserted himself down on the post.  Greenberg would score six straight, culminated by a break away dunk as MCLA would begin to pull away.  Greenberg would post a 20 point half in leading the Trailblazers to an insurmountable 61-40 halftime edge.

MCLA would continue the onslaught in the second half as the Trailblazer depth would prove too much.  Four other players would post double digit point totals: Freshman Bilal Shabazz (10), sophomore Chris Harris (17), junior Brenden Kordana (11), and freshman Tyler Lennox (10).

ACP was led by Mickey Shrivastrava and Ben Sheppard who each netted 14 points in the loss.
