Women’s Basketball Suffers 69-60 Setback at Salem State
SALEM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team dropped a 69-60 decision at Salem State Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene boasted a 21-16 lead after the first period of action.
- Despite Salem State owning a 13-12 edge in second quarter scoring, the Lions held a 33-29 advantage at the halftime intermission.
- The home team outscored the guests 23-12 in the third frame to sport a 52-45 lead heading into the final quarter.
- Eastern Nazarene narrowed the gap to 60-58 with 4:23 left to play in regulation on a basket by Kathy Hernandez (Cranston, R.I.).
- The Vikings outscored the Lions 9-2 down the stretch to earn the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Alondra Jimenez (Santa Barbara, Calif.) poured in 22 points and grabbed 15 boards while adding five assists.
- Delaney Walker (Nampa, Idaho) notched 12 points to go with five assists.
- Anaira Ayala (Guaynabo, P.R.) tallied eight points while Mya Landry (Derry, N.H.) added seven points off the bench.
- Eastern Nazarene finished with a field-goal percentage of 33.3% to go with a 25% clip from three-point territory.
- Salem State shot 39.7% from the floor and despite an 0-for-6 effort from beyond the arc on the night.
- Ernidia Goncalves scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Vikings while Liz Zaiter posted a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards.
