HOW IT HAPPENED:

Game 1 -

  • In the opener, the Rams jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the second inning. Anthony Herman (Stratford, Conn.) walked with one out, advanced to second on a groundout and scored on Matt Shaver's (Milford, Mass.) RBI double.
  • The score remained that way until the bottom of the sixth. Kevin Lindsay (East Bridgewater, Mass.) singled to center to lead off the frame and moved to second when Luke Tamulevich (Whitman, Mass.) reached on a bunt single. After the next two batters were retired, Joey Molis (Cumberland, R.I.) walked to load the bases. Colin Josselyn then launched the clutch bases clearing double to the fence in left-centerfield to put the Bears on top, 3-1.
  • Matt Josselyn (Hanson, Mass.) picked up his first win of the season on the hill as he tossed six solid innings. Josselyn (1-3) allowed just one run on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
  • Tyler Dasilva-Medeiros (Taunton, Mass.) retired the side in the ninth on 11 pitches to earn his first save. The game ended on outstanding catch by third baseman Tyler Rondeau (Bourne, Mass.) who lunged over the fence to snag a foul ball.
  • Lindsay went 2-for-2 with his first collegiate triple and a run scored to pace the BSU offense in game one.
  • Shaver doubled and singled in three at bats and drove in a run to lead the way for Framingham State.
  • Josh Jezouit (Williamstown, Mass.) gave up two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 inning of work in the loss for the Rams. Jezouit (walked one and fanned six.

Game 2 -

  • In game two, Trever Dennett (Kingston, Mass.) tossed six shutout innings to lead the Bears to a 4-0 victory and a sweep of the doubleheader. Dennett allowed just two hits and a walk, and struck out four.
  • The Bears snapped a scoreless game with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. With one out, Molis walked, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Colin Josselyn followed with an RBI single to left-center to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
  • Bridgewater State tacked on three more runs in the fifth to make it a 4-0 game. Rondeau walked to lead off the frame, moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on Lindsay's base hit. After a stolen base, Tamulevich beat out a suicide squeeze bunt plating both runners with a hustling Lindsay scoring all the way from second. Tamulevich then stole second, advanced to third on a balk and scored when Patrick Cashin (Franklin, Mass.) reached on a two-base throwing error.
  • Dasilva-Medeiros inherited a bases loaded nobody out jam in the top of the seventh, but was able to minimize the damage as he retired all three batters he faced including a pair of strikeouts to record his second save of the twinbill. Pinch hitter Nick Simonenko (Hudson, Mass.) drove in the Rams' lone run in the inning with an RBI groundout.
  • Colin Josselyn went 2-for-3 with an RBI in game two for the Bears. Molis walked twice in three plate appearances and scored a run.
  • Jack Foley (Burlington, Conn.) was tagged with the loss on the mound for the Rams. Foley allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits over 4 1/3 innings with a pair of walks and six strikeouts.
