Women’s Basketball falls to Williams, 90-43

North Adams, MA-MCLA first year Kristie Zator scored 15 of her game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter but by then the outcome had been all but decided as the Trailblazers fell to Williams College this afternoon, 90-43. With the win Williams improves to 4-1 while MCLA falls to 2-6.

Tied 9-9 six minutes into the contest, Williams would end the first quarter on a 12-0 run to take 21-12 lead.

Over the next two quarters the Ephs would take advantage of their size and pound the ball inside while MCLA struggled for the few points they were able to score.  Williams would outscore the Trailblazers 19-6 in the second quarter to take a 25-point lead into halftime, and dominate the third quarter, 32-2.

With no doubt left headed into the fourth quarter MCLA kept competing and the shots finally started to fall. Zator would go 5 for 5 from beyond the arc and senior Brooke DiGenaro would chip in 6 points as the Trailblazers would outscore the Ephs 26-18 in the final stanza.

Williams featured a balanced attack with five players in double figures. Sarah Batra and Priscila Singleton-Eriyo each scored 12 points off the bench. Arianna Gerig and Brooke Krivickas both scored 11 points while Maddy Mandyck chipped in 10.

Zator led the Trailblazers finishing with 21 points while classmate Zaylee Ramos chipped in 9.

Williams shot 53.8% from the field going 3-8 from 3-point range. MCLA shot just 25.4% from the field including 9-26 from distance.

Williams will next play at Skidmore College while MCLA will also hit the road traveling to Anna Maria this Thursday for a 6pm tip-off.
