MCLA snaps four game slide with 70-59 win over Elmira College

Ashland, VA- The MCLA Men's basketball team snapped a four game skid by defeating Elmira College in the consolation game of the Randolph Macon Coaches Classic.  With the win, the Trailblazers improve to 5-6.  Sophomore Chris Harris led a balanced attack with 17 points.  Elmira falls to 1-9 on the season.

MCLA held a comfortable advantage throughout most of the first half as junior Brendan Kordana (Adams, MA) scored all 12 of his points.  He knocked down a pair of three's to help the Trailblazers take a 38-26 lead into the locker room.

Harris was the constant in the second half collecting nine of his 17 in the final frame.  Elmira would cut the lead to six on a few occasions, however MCLA responded with an 11-3 run at the 7:00 minute mark to put the game away.  The run was keyed by E'lon Julien's six points off the bench.

Julien would finish with 10 points and eight boards, both season highs.

MCLA returns to the court on January 4th when they travel to New England College for a 4:00pm tip off.
